Residential PV Energy to be Intro’d at Intersolar

SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. will present its new PV storage for residential systems and expanded product portfolio for commercial systems at Intersolar EU. The PV storage solution presented by SolarEdge at Intersolar will also include an inverter solution that allows for grid and PV integration with Tesla’s home battery solution, the Powerwall. Building on its dc-optimized inverter technology, SolarEdge’s StorEdge™ is a dc-coupled PV storage solution that uses a single inverter for both PV and storage applications. The storage solutions enable increasing self-consumption for energy independence and an optional power backup. The StorEdge™ solutions are expected to be available by the end of 2015.

SolarEdge will also introduce an extended commercial solution that consists of three inverters, sized 25kW, 27.6kW, and 33.3kW. These inverters can be used in commercial installations to minimize the number of required inverters and improve system return on investment (ROI). Designed to operate with SolarEdge commercial power optimizers, the P600 and P700, the inverters allow up to 2.5 times longer strings than those of traditional inverters. The new inverters will begin shipping in Europe & APAC from July 2015.

“Our portfolio expansion and entrance into the PV storage market advances SolarEdge’s leadership role in providing innovative PV solutions designed to lower the cost of solar energy and accelerate the pace of global PV proliferation,” stated Lior Handelsman, VP Marketing and Product Strategy of SolarEdge.
