Fault/Failure trouble-shooting instruction and guidance of Neware battery testers

Warning: Removal of cabinet panels may result in serious injury or even death. Cabinet panels should only be removed by qualified personnel.
When working with controller boards or any other electronic boards in the system, either changing them out or just troubleshooting, be sure to take static precautions, such as:
· Keep all electronics in static-free bags.
· Work on static-free mats.
· Wear a ground wrist strap.
Failure to maintain a static-free interaction with the system can result in damage to the electronics in the system.

For mostly of the following problems/symptoms, unless you are very good at battery test equipment hardware troubleshooting, or else it would be better for you can contact us before you make any actions on your own.

SymptomsActions
Voltage or Current readings incorrect.
A. All Channels.
B. Sequential Group of 8 Channels.
C. Single Channel.
A. Check tester accuracy and do calibration if needed.
Measure/adjust the charge/discharge power supply.
B. Check the appropriate controller board.
C. Try testing with another device.
Check channel calibration.
Check the power module fuse.
If unable to calibrate, replace the appropriate power module or isolate the failure ones.
Channels protected or problem status with red exclamation mark channel on the BTS software.1.Check for defective channels.
2.Ensure the device(both the Ethernet cables and batteries) are connected properly.
3. Verify that the active procedure will operate
properly with another channel with the same
specifications.
Suspend; can’t control status shown on screen.
A. All Channels.
B. Sequential group of 8 channels.
C. Single channel.
A.
1. If there is a power failure during the test, try resuming/continuing the test.
2. Suspect faulty charge or discharge power supply.
3. Maybe the tester is offline(not connected) with computer actually.
B.
1. Check the controller board associated with the problem channels.
C.
Check the wiring and polarity of the device under test.
Verify that the active procedure operates properly on a channel with the same specifications.
Testers offline.1. Check the power supply connected properly.
2. Check the tester is powered on.
3. Check the screen of the mid machine is on.
4. Make sure the communication LED is blinking.
5. Make sure the Ethernet connection between mid machine and computer works.
6. Firewall or antivirus software.
Disk full error message.1. Review the active procedure data sampling rate(for cycling test, 30s is enough, 60s or 120s better).
2. Consider the deletion of exported data files or historical data from database.
3. Consider the use of a larger hard disk drive.
4. Please consult with Neware engineers before replacing/adding hard disks.
Software runs very slow; PC responds slowly to mouse clicks or operations.1. Check for proper PC model and hardware configuration.
2. Review the active test procedure to consider the data sampling parameters. Excessive data sampling will result in greater disk activity, slowing the operations of the PC.
3. Backup process and time interval!! If the data backup time interval is short and many channels connected to one PC, this will be a big problem for the long run.
4. Consult with Neware engineers for other possible solutions.
