Cosel Co. Ltd. will be debuting an extension to the company’s very successful PLA series enclosed single output ac-dc power supplies during next week’s Techno- Frontier show in Tokyo. The PLA 15W, 30W and 50W versions are small high-efficiency products with an economical price. Each model is only 1.5″ wide, 3.15″ high and 2.87″ to 3.9″ long, depending on the output wattage. They are 15% to 20% smaller than the corresponding PBA units that they are replacing. The PLA 15W, 30W and 50W ac-dc power supplies will be available in 5-, 12-, 15- and 24-Vdc outputs and operate with a universal input of 85- to 264-Vac 50/60 Hz (these units are derated linearly for input voltages below 115Vac to 80% of maximum rated power for an input voltage of 85Vac).
The full-load operating temperature is -10 to 40 degrees C (with de-rating the units can operate from -20 to +70 degrees C, with the derating depending on the package configuration selected). These power supplies will have international safety certifications including CE, UL60950-1, UL508, RoHS, Semi F-47 and FCC Class B. Options include conformal coating, vertical terminal block, DIN rail mount and push on connector type. The PLA15, 30 and 50W have low standby wattage consumption of less than 1W under a no load condition. The operating frequencies of these converters are 100kHz for the 15W units, and 130kHz for the 30W and 50W units (all using a flyback topology).
The PLA 15W, 30W and 50W are supplied standard with a finger safe cover and a 5 year warranty. Production of these new models is scheduled to start on July 22nd with delivery is up to 8 Weeks or from local distributor Inventories. The Cosel PLA series now consists of 34 different models in 7 wattage ranges.
