A brand-new cell phone accessory that acts as a Portable battery charger, a data cable, an emergency back-up battery, and is the size of a credit card will soon be available. According to the product’s website, the Charged-Card is the perfect and complete solution to everyone’s cell phone, ipad, and tablet battery and cable problem, and is a multi functional charger that fits in a wallet.
Gene Aikens, the company’s president and co-creator of the Charged-Card, has been refurbishing cell phones for more than 10 years. He said that most portable battery backups are much larger than the average cell phone battery.
“If you look at the size of the iPhone and other cell phone batteries, they are very thin,” said Aikens. “I thought we could make a portable charger for any cell phone that’s small enough to fit in your pocket or even your wallet.”
According to the website, the Charged-Card is the same thickness as three credit cards.
The Charged-Card has multiple uses, according to Aikens, including a portable battery charger, an emergency back-up battery that can be used during a call, and a data cable to transfer files to or from your cellphone, ipad, or tablet from a computer.
“The data cable feature also allows users to completely charge their devices through any USB port,” said Aikens.
The Charged-Card is self-contained, meaning all wires are part of the tiny design, so users do not have to carry around extra cables in order to use the product. The device also has a flashlight function.
There are three models of the Charged-Card available, one for iPhone 5, one for iPhone 3 and 4, and one for other platforms such as Android, Blackberry and Windows phones.
Aikens said that the other perk of his product is the ease of use.
“You simply take out the Charged-Card, connect the attached cable, and push the button on the card,” said Aikens. “It’s just that easy.”
According to the company’s fundraising webpage on indiegogo.com, the Charged-Card is scheduled to begin shipments of the iphone-4 model February 28th, and the iphone-5, and Android model the end of March.
Aikens added that any customer that pre-orders the Charged-Card gets $15 off of the regular retail price of $39.95.
“The Charged-Card is the only accessory you need to keep your cell phone, ipad, or tablet charged and data updated,” said Aikens, “and no more tangled cables, no more huge battery backups and no more dead batteries.”
