120-W Eighth Bricks Operate from Inputs of 18 to 75 Vdc

GE Critical Power has added the EHHD 120-Watt, HAMMERHEAD™-series isolated dc-dc converters that provide a single, precisely regulated output voltage over an ultra-wide input voltage range of 18- to 75-Vdc. Comprised of three eighth-brick, low-height power modules, the EHHD power modules provide nominal output voltages of 12-, 5- and 3.3-Vdc and are rated for output currents of 10-, 24- and 36-A, respectively.

The module achieves typical full-load efficiency of greater than 90 percent at input voltages of 24Vdc and 48Vdc. Standard features of the HAMMERHEAD-series units include remote on/off, remote sense and output voltage adjustment along with over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection. In addition, the EHHD converters feature 2,250-volt isolation, enabling its use in power over Ethernet applications.

The modules enable input power flexibility for board designers while also allowing for sourcing consistency with one product that can fit into multiple sockets. Pricing begins at $24.70 per module at an annual volume of 1,000 units. Production is set to begin the week of November 24, 2014.
