200mA LDOs offered in Variety of Package Options

Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) today announced the launch of a new series of LDO regulator ICs. The new LDO regulators are available in an ultra-small package and are suited to a variety of mobile devices that require extended battery lives and high-density board assembly, including wearable devices, smartphones, tablet PCs and portable games. The 200 mA output TCR2LN/LE/LF series features an on/off control input, ultra-low quiescent bias current and low dropout voltage.

Toshiba’s new LDO regulators are available in fixed output voltages between 0.8 V and 3.6 V and feature over-current protection and an auto-discharge option. Using a fine analog IC process for advanced CMOS, the TCR2LN/LE/LF series realizes ultra-low bias current characteristics by reducing the bias current by one-thirtieth (2 microamperes max) when compared with existing products.

“When it comes to design, customers who develop general battery-powered devices such as wearable devices and smartphones are first and foremost looking for low power consumption – making our new LDOs the perfect solution,” noted Talayeh Saderi, business development manager for TAEC.

Features include: Ultra low quiescent bias current: 2 microamperes (max) @I(OUT)=0 mA; Low drop-out voltage: 220 mV (typ.) @I(OUT)=150 mA (TCR2LN30); Abundant output voltage lineup: 0.8 to 3.6 V; and Package lineup: SDFN4(0.8×0.8 mm) (TCR2LN series) SOT-553(ESV: 1.6×1.6 mm) (TCR2LE series) SOT-25(SMV: 2.9×2.8 mm) (TCR2LF series). The new LDO regulators are available now, in ultra-small SDFN4 (0.8 mm x 0.8 mm x 0.38 mm) and general purpose SOT-553 and SOT-25 packages.
