Semtech Corp. announced the RClamp1255P, a high-performance, low capacitance transient voltage suppression (TVS) device. The RClamp1255P is a highly integrated device that replaces multiple discrete components while providing complete VBUS surge protection, and ESD protection for USB data lines and ID line. Built on Semtech’s process technologies that achieve low clamping voltages, the RClamp1255P delivers optimal transient protection and is housed in a 2.0 x 1.8 mm package with a height of only 0.57mm. The small size, low capacitance, and high level of surge and ESD protection makes the RClamp1255P an ideal solution for protecting USB interfaces in mobile phones, laptops and portable electronics.
