Dual-input Power Multiplexer ICs with Protection Features

Toshiba Corporation Semiconductor and Storage Products Company today announced the launch of power multiplexer ICs that can switch between two power sources, for use in charging circuits of mobile devices. Shipment of the new TCK32xG series starts from today. The new products can switch power sources through external signals and also through a built-in auto selection mode function, which switches sources automatically according to priorities programmed in advance.

Over voltage lock out (OVLO), reverse current blocking and other protection features used in safety designs are built-in, and will contribute to creating safer and more reliable power source switching solutions. Applications: Charging circuits of mobile devices including smartphones, tablets and wearable devices. Electronic devices with dual-input power supply systems, such as ac adapters and USB power.

Main specifications include: Output current (max), 2A; Input voltage (max), 36V; Built-in protection features, Reverse current blocking circuit, thermal shutdown circuit, etc.; OVLO Level (typ.), 12V (TCK321G) monitored output VinA, 15V (TCK322G) monitored output VinA, 15V (TCK323G) monitored output VinB; and small package size: 0.5mm pitch, 1.9 x 1.9mm WCSP type package.
