Power Line Filter offers Space-Saving EMI Solution

TE Connectivity announces the launch of its BCF series power line filter with threaded stud terminals. Previously offered only in terminal block terminations, the new low-weight BCF series is a 3-phase Delta EMI Filter with threaded terminals for cables with ring terminals. The new 3-phase filters are used to reduce noise emissions typically associated with variable speed motors like those used in process automation equipment, elevators and alternative energy applications.

“Small innovations can have a profound impact on space- and weight-savings at the application level.” said Nick Lucariello, Global Product Manager, TE Connectivity Intelligent Buildings. “TE’s new BCF filters allow wires to be terminated at a variety of angles, significantly improving the filters ability to be used in groups or confined spaces.”

All filters have been designed and tested for susceptibility and/or emissions applications, and have received approval from major safety agencies throughout the world, including UL, CSA and VDE. The new BCF filters help obtain higher power efficiency at frequencies below 100kHz.
