First-to-Market Wireless Power Laptop Transmitter intro’d at NeoCon

Gill Electronics, Inc. announced today that the company will be introducing its first-to-market TesLink™ Laptop Transmitter designed to wirelessly power devices with higher power requirements such as laptop computers during the NeoCon commercial interiors show taking place this week in Chicago. OFS Brandswill be promoting this new technology in conjunction with Gill. Various products will be embedded within OFS Brand’s diverse product lines showing a broad range of applications for wireless power. The full range of wireless power products can be seen during NeoCon from June 15-17 in OFS Brands showroom at the Merchandise Mart #1132.

The new transmitter is a Rezence™ based system capable of powering fixed devices like monitors or mobile devices such as laptop computers by delivering an unprecedented 33+W of power. The products will demonstrate this capability using wire-free laptops which incorporate a Rezence™-based receiver and forgo the traditional power cord and transformer.

“OFS Brands is constantly looking to support integration of the right technologies into our products. Bring your own device (BYOD) is continuing to gain traction within the work environment and with that traction comes the need to power these devices,” said Wes Harper, Technology Manager for OFS Brands. “The Rezence™ based standard products from Gill are designed to create a very convenient user-experience that just works, and that is important to us. Pair that with Intel’s goal of developing tether-less laptops, and it became very clear to us that this is the technology to introduce within our customer-focused and forward-thinking products.”

“Companies and individuals are looking for ways to improve productivity and integrate technology unobtrusively,” remarked Brad Miller, Chief Technology Officer for Gill Electronics. “We envision all the places people work that enabling those people to bring their devices with them without having to worry about finding a place to plug them in. Having the power to charge laptops is the next step towards a wire free environment.”

Other benefits of TesLink™ include: Scalable Power – the ability to charge devices with different power requirements and different power states on the same area at the same time (i.e. a wearable device, smart phone, tablet and/or laptop). Drop and Go Charging – simply set the device down on the charging area. Multi-Device Flexibility – the ability to charge multiple devices simultaneously. Freedom of Placement – unlike first generation wireless charging, which required specific placement of the device on a specific location on the surface, resonant-based devices can be placed anywhere within the charging area.
