Xtreme Torque Stepper Motors

Lin Engineering, Inc. has released the new Xtreme Torque E5718 Stepper Motor with Enhanced Technology. The Xtreme Torque Stepper Motor with Enhanced Technology has been designed to reduce stalling, skipped steps, and provide efficient torque to keep applications continuously running smoothly. This new enhanced design allows users to stay within the same frame size and still take advantage of the increased torque and added benefits normally only available in larger frame sizes.

In comparison to the standard torque stepper motor, the E5718 Xtreme Torque Stepper with Enhanced Technology enables users to gain up to 40% more torque. The E5718 has a holding torque of up to 260 oz-in whereas similar motors can only output about 170 oz-in. This powerful NEMA 23 stepper has the highest torque per inertia motor and is a perfect solution to those applications with heavier loads or at increased risk of stalling or skipping steps. It also allows for the flexibility to have flying lead wires or a multitude of connector options to best suit specific application’s requirements.

A variety of customization options are available for these stepper motors including custom housings, multiple mounting configurations (NEMA sizes 8, 11, 14, 17, 23 and 34), multiple shaft options (slotted, cross-drilled, oversized, hollow, extended, helical cut, press-fit gear and pulleys, etc.), custom windings (for no additional cost), high-temperature bearings and lubricants, and value-added assemblies such as encoders, dampers, gearboxes, mechatronics, etc.
